Our Company

D.A.R.T. Mission Statement

D.A.R.T., the Guntersville High School robotics company, provides an opportunity for students to be involved in an extra-curricular activity that promotes and develops intelligence and knowledge in the fields of science, mathematics, technology and business. We are a multi-disciplinary team consisting of local area high school students, teachers, and community volunteers who work closely together to design and build high-quality, competitive FIRST robots. We bring together professionals and young people to solve engineering problems. By encouraging positive values of industry, responsibility, and teamwork, we utilize the FIRST philosophy of mentoring and gracious professionalism.

Operational Funding

Departments

D.A.R.T. is composed of four departments, the Public Relations, Design, Construction, and Media. Each department has an advisor. The department heads communicate with the company advisors and the vice-president in order to meet overall deadlines for the company.

Public Relations

The Public Relations, a.k.a. P.R., department deals with the public and advertising. All the members of this group write stories for the local newspapers and create the scrapbook we take to competitions.

Media

The Media department designs the website, animation, and video for competition. The members are split into different sections, according to what they work towards, but constantly help each other in areas where one particular employee is weak.

Construction

The Construction department deals with the building of the robot. The put together the ideas of the design team and make it a reality.

Design

The Design department creates the design of the robot. This part of the team uses a computer program to put together the ideas that the team has provided.
